“I’m just afraid.”
A client said that to me recently about the state the world is in. To some extent I get it. Turmoil in the world due to the coronavirus, protests over the George Floyd tragedy and talks about equality. Uncertainty is ubiquitous. People are looking for a solid branch to hold onto. They can’t seem to find it in their politicians and leaders, so they resort to either clinging to the fickle nature of social media, or just settling for an ongoing state of anxiety.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. When I coach and train on resilience, I provide tools that help not only to build resilience, but to simply stay sane and calm during crisis. Sometimes all you need is a reminder of what IS in your control, so you don’t let the waves of uncertainty take you away. Check out the video below for a few of those tips…don’t let fear take over.
